    What is Flake Epoxy Flooring?

The epoxy flake coating is a multi-layered, new, advanced technique of floor finishing or floor covering using dry flakes or chips of paint, metal, or vinyl, and a base coat, creating a smooth, durable, and multi-color finish. The flakes used are lightweight and random in shape, so they won’t wear out your flooring or make it unsafe to walk on. They can also be mixed with other colors of epoxy resin, chip flakes, and pigments to give you a perfect custom color look for your home or garage.

What are the Advantages of a Flake Epoxy Floor?

The lightweight materials used in epoxy flake flooring will keep you safe when walking on your floor. It makes for a clean-looking finish with a bright color that will shine for years without fading or scratches showing up as much, which could cause accidents. The textures in this technique add depth to your floor while still being smooth enough that the risk of accidents during work or play decreases.

Epoxy flake flooring makes use of a variety of colors, so you can match it with the color scheme of whatever room you install it in. This flooring is easy to maintain, just clean it with soap and water every few months to keep it looking like new. This will also help to keep the floor cool, because as a thermoplastic material, heat and sound waves are reflected off of it more than with other materials.

Is It Used in Commercial or Residential Settings?

Flake epoxy flooring can be used in both residential and commercial settings. In commercial spaces, you could find this flooring in salons, hotel lobbies, retail stores, restaurants, hotels and offices. In residential homes, you could find flake epoxy flooring in garages, kitchens, or basements.

I began in this industry at the age of 16 and have built my business from the ground up. I am extremely passionate about my work and enjoy creating beautiful projects for my customers.

Why should I choose an epoxy floor?

There are an immense number of benefits to choosing epoxy flooring. The first and foremost one is epoxy is cost effective.  It is extremely durable and also stain resistant.  The surface makes for an easy clean up as well.  Also, there are limitless colors to choose from, giving you a one of a kind floor.

How long is the process of installing a new epoxy floor?

Typically our installation takes no longer than two days to complete, most garages fall into this time frame. More elaborate decorative floors usually take 3-4 days.  The more preparation needed, the more time it takes to complete.

How do I clean my new epoxy floor?

You can give your new floors a light cleaning with a broom, or dust mop. For spills, simply wipe them up with a paper towel or wash cloth. For a deep clean, you will want to mop your floors with a simple mix of ammonia and water. It’s best to avoid any soap mixtures as they can leave a film which can cause your floors to become slippery.  Metallic floor coatings show a bit more wear and tear and need more frequent cleaning.

Will my new epoxy floor be slippery?

Depending on your specific flooring choice, your floor may have a slightly textured surface and feel, or a glass-like smooth surface. In most cases, your floor will be no more slippery than regular concrete when it’s wet. There are slip resistant additives that can be added to the top coat that will help with this issue.

There are some small cracks and other defects in my concrete. Will this affect the epoxy coating?

The most important part of installation process is the preparation of the existing floor. Defects, fissures and dust may compromise the integrity of your new epoxy floor. All efforts are taken to eliminate those defects during the process. By using high quality diamond grinding equipment combined with diligent efforts from our team, we are able to keep the dust to a minimum and prepare the floor correctly.

I do not write a lot of reviews. Actually, my first one on Home Advisor. Josh and his team deserve the positive review. He was competitive, but more importantly to me, his service and quality were top notch. Josh just 'got it'!! Does the little things well. He listened to our needs and met them. Example- He helped us come to a conclusion on color as this was more difficult than we thought. I would highly recommend this company!! You wont regret it.

    Bryan K. - Lenexa, KS

He was really involved and very hands-on. You won't find anyone else that is as flexible and who sets the bar so high. He truly cares about his work. Him and his crew knocked out 26,000 square feet for us like clockwork. I have referred him to many clients and he has exceeded all expectations.

    Anthony K. - Grandview, MO

Wow beautiful epoxy floor! The floor was completed within the very tight deadline with a day to spare. We built a new home and we have gotten the most compliments from our visitors about the garage floor. I would definitely use Josh again!
